Last night was crammed with award ceremonys. First the annual national film award gala – Guldbaggen or the Golden Bug. Sebbe by Babak Najafi won the award for Best Film, almost exactly one year after its world première at GIFF 2010. Best Documentary was Ångrarna (Regretters) by Marcus Lindeen – also a world première of GIFF 2010. And Best Short was Tussilago by Jonas Odell – also a world première of GIFF 2010. So – join GIFF 2011 if you want to check out the future Golden Bugs!
Maybe Tova Mossard will be one of them. She won the alternative award, Årets Hets (= Torment of the Year, named after Alf Sjöberg’s 1944 film with screenplay by Ingmar Bergman). The Hets ceremony was at Konstakademin in Stockholm, a few blocks away from the official Golden Bug party at Berns. Lot’s of nice people attending. The jury, consisting of film critic and GIFFer Hynek Pallas and filmmakers Saga Gärde, Marcus Lindeen and Fiona Jonuzi had chosen Tova Mossard as the second winner after last years winner Fredrik Wenzel. Tova Mossards film Stora Scenen will be screened at GIFF 2011, don’t miss!
