Little Voices in Venice

Jairo Eduardo Carillo, one of the two directors of Pequeñas voces (Little Voices) at the Venice Days villa.

One of the many great evenings in Venice this year (I am back home in Göteborg now) was the première night of Pequeñas voces (Little Voices) in the independent section Venice Days. It is an animated documentary from Colombia about the conditions for children affected by the civil war. It is absolute lovely, though the subject naturally is of the tougher kind.

The Göteborg International Film Festival Fund is one of the co-funders of the film and it was great to be present at the screening and watch as the Venetian audience greeted the film very warmly. And of course to meet the film crew later, in the Venice Days villa. Look out for the film in the programme of GIFF 2011!
